Barb Goldworm

Barb Goldworm is the founder and president of FOCUS consulting (www.focusonsystems.com), a research, analyst and consulting firm focused on systems, software and storage. Andreas M. Antonopoulos
Senior Vice President and Founding Partner

Andreas M. Antonopoulos is a Senior Vice President and Founding Partner with Nemertes Research, where he develops and manages research projects, conducts strategic seminars and advises key clients. Andreas is a computer scientist, a master of data communications and distributed systems, a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) and a self-professed geek, with an engineering, programming and consulting background.

For the past 16 years, has advised a range of global industries on emerging technologies and trends, and developed business strategies for the efficient and effective use of technology. An early pioneer who saw the potential of the Internet in 1988, Mr. Antonopoulos helped many businesses harness new processes to take advantage of the rapid developments in telecommunications.

Mr. Antonopoulos is a true “generalist” who is well-versed in many diverse technology subjects. With experience ranging from hardware and electronics to high level business consulting, he combines authority and deep knowledge with an ability to make complex subjects easy to understand. He often brings a fresh perspective to a topic with surprising insights and his ability to identify underlying principles and connections between different topics.

Throughout his career, Mr. Antonopoulos has maintained an entrepreneurial spirit, creating and managing several companies as well as advising startups. As a consultant he has led large teams on multi-million dollar projects for Fortune 500 companies, designing large and complex secure networks. Advising clients at the board level, he is able to combine his deep technical knowledge with a solid grasp on business goals and objectives. Mr. Antonopoulos has years of experience working with CXOs, then translating their business goals into detailed designs for the technical teams he leads.

Mr. Antonopoulos studied computer science at UCL in the UK and then earned his Master’s degree in Data Communications, Networks and Distributed Systems. As part of his undergraduate thesis project, Mr. Antonopoulos designed and implemented a distributed whiteboard and desktop sharing P2P application for X-Windows on Unix, long before the emergence of Webex and collaborative applications in the mainstream. He then continued as a research fellow for the University of London, researching distributed systems and security and lecturing on electronic commerce. Later he founded Phaia Limited, a UK consulting firm, specializing in the use of Linux systems for security and small business networking when Linux was in its infancy (1995).

Before joining Nemertes, Mr. Antonopoulos was the Security Practice Director at ThruPoint Inc, where he was responsible for a global team of security consultants who deliver solutions to multinational clients. Prior to ThruPoint he was a Security Practice Lead at Greenwich Technology Partners, where he designed the security architecture of a global wire-transfer network interconnecting the world’s banks.

 

Jerald Murphy
Senior Vice President and Director of Research


Mr. Murphy is one of the industry's leading authorities on enterprise IT infrastructure design and management. He has spent more than 20 years doing engineering research and helping to develop infrastructure and management strategies for many of the largest global companies and service providers. Mr. Murphy's areas of primary coverage for RFG include databases, end-user computer platforms, network design, servers, and storage. Additional focus areas include quality of service (QoS), security, and service provider outsourcing.

Before joining RFG, Mr. Murphy was Senior Vice President and Service Director for Meta Group's infrastructure strategies service. Prior to that, he was director of network management services for RPM Consulting. At that firm, he was responsible for defining the network management architecture process and advising network management vendors on product architectural enhancements. Before RPM Consulting, Mr. Murphy was manager of MCI's Systems Integration Group, where he was responsible for the design and implementation of MCI's data network management operations centers. He also redesigned MCI's customer data network management systems to be one of the largest integrated management platforms of its kind.

Mr. Murphy has a B.S.E.E. from the United States Military Academy and an M.S.E.E. from Princeton University. Mr. Murphy has published peer-reviewed research with the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) in VLSI signal processing, and is currently chair for the Princeton alumni school selection committee for New Jersey. He has spoken at numerous conferences, including the Enterprise Management Forum, the OpenView Forum, and The Telemanagement Forum, and at the Server Blade Summit.

 

Zeus Kerravala
Senior Vice President, Enterprise Research

Zeus Kerravala is senior vice president of Yankee Group’s Enterprise Research. Kerravala manages the research and consulting agenda that enables Anywhere EnterpriseTM clients to meet the demands of the global connectivity revolution. Kerravala’s expertise involves working with customers to solve their business issues through the deployment of infrastructure technology.

Before Yankee Group, Kerravala was a senior engineer and technical project manager for Greenwich Technology Partners, a leading infrastructure consulting firm. Earlier, he was the vice president of IT for Ferris, Baker Watts, a mid-Atlantic brokerage firm, deploying corporate-wide technical solutions to support the firm’s business units. Kerravala was also an engineer and technical project manager for Alex. Brown & Sons, where he was responsible for the technology related to the equity trading desks.

Kerravala holds a B.S. degree in physics and mathematics from the University of Victoria in British Columbia, Canada.

 

Jonathan Eunice
Principal IT Advisor

Mr. Eunice is a recognized authority on networked information technologies and their application. In his nearly twenty years as an analyst, he has authored hundreds of publications and client inquiry responses on system architectures, operating environments, virtualization, middleware, security, management utilities, and development tools. His books include MVS vs. Unix: Midnight in the Garden of Open and Proprietary, Enterprise Systems Management, Unix in Transition, Unix Matures, and Leaders in Object Technology. In addition to hands-on systems management experience, Mr. Eunice has taught and used programming languages as diverse as Ada, C, Java, Perl, Prolog, and Smalltalk.
